So they’re everywhere. Us girls wear them in our hair and on our ears. I’ve even seen a shawl made out of peacock feathers. But what makes this sudden trend so amazing? And how can we pull it off without looking like Big Bird?

So I’ve come to the conclusion that with feathers, less is more, and subtle is OK. When you get feathers in your hair, try to pick colors that compliment your hair and eye color. For example, if you have blonde hair and blue eyes, I would suggest teal or green colors. For brunettes, blues or reds. Of course, the neon and neutral feathers are totally cute, too.

My new favorite thing right now is feather earrings. Specifically singular earrings.  On the cover of the June/July issue of SEVENTEEN, Lucy Hale wears an earring by Edge of Urge. The earring was 60 dollars. Let me tell you, I loved the idea of wearing one glamorous feather earring, instead of two so-so feather earrings. So I looked everywhere for something like this, and when I finally found it, it was in this little store in the mall. I bought this single-earring with peacock feathers for 7.99, and soon I realized that it was SO easy to make. (check out ‘Your Crafting Fixation for a how-to) So now, I wear one earring all the time.

Do you have any feather ideas?
